1) The Fulbright Scholarship
The Fulbright Scholarship is a prestigious academic scholarship that offers a unique opportunity for up to 4,000 students and recent graduates from around the world to study or teach in the United States each year. Fulbright Scholar’s work with American counterparts in many of the same fields of study, including business, humanities, law, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), education, art and design.
The scholarship is highly competitive as only 25% of applicants are awarded fellowships.
2) The DAAD Scholarship
The German Academic Exchange Service offers a variety of scholarships to qualified students. There are over 180 DAAD exchange programs in various fields, so you’re sure to find one that suits your academic interests and goals. If you’re looking for an academic scholarship in France, check out the DAAD-Universités program. This scholarship provides grants of up to 20,000 Euros for students wishing to study abroad at a French university for up to one year. Candidates must be enrolled in a German university and have not reached their 30th birthday at the time of application. The US-DAAD Scholarship is perfect if you want to study abroad for up to two semesters at any college or university in the United States with an undergraduate program on offer.

The Boren Scholarship, funded by the US government, is an academic scholarship available to undergraduate students who want to study abroad in countries of the world that are critical to United States foreign policy. To qualify, applicants must be a United States citizen and be a full-time student at an accredited four-year university in the US. 4) The Marshall Scholarship
The Marshall Scholarship is one of the world’s most prestigious academic scholarships. It covers two years of undergraduate study and two years of graduate study at a British university, with a stipend of £30,000 per year. There are also generous additional funding opportunities for recipients to access during their studies. The scholarship is open to all nationalities, but applicants must intend to study in the United Kingdom, and they cannot have studied in any country other than their own after graduating from secondary school.
5) The Churchill Scholarship
In collaboration with the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, the British Council has created a free academic scholarship that offers international candidates a one-year Master’s degree at any of the UK’s world-class universities. The Churchill Scholarship is available to highly motivated students from around the globe, this scholarship will be worth £40,000 and includes an annual tuition fee waiver as well as an allowance for living costs.
In order to qualify for this award, you must not have studied in Europe before the age of eighteen and must not have resided there continuously for more than five years since then. In addition, you cannot hold another EU citizenship alongside your original citizenship; if you do, you are ineligible for this scholarship. Applicants must also demonstrate a strong interest in studying or working in Europe after their education abroad has ended and commit themselves to promoting close relations between their country and Europe following graduation.

6) The Rhodes Scholarship
The Rhodes Scholarship is a highly prestigious international academic scholarship awarded to students studying at the University of Oxford. The scholarship was created in 1902 by English philanthropist and businessman Cecil John Rhodes.
It is one of the world’s oldest and most distinguished international scholarships. Each year, two American students are selected as Rhodes Scholars from a pool of applicants who have met our rigorous requirements: they must be citizens of the United States; they must be between 18-22 years old (inclusive) at the time that they apply; and they must intend to pursue an undergraduate course of study at Oxford University in any discipline.
7) The Mitchell Scholarship
The Mitchell Scholarship is a free one-year, full-time academic scholarship to the University of Cambridge in England. Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old, be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., and demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement in high school. Students are required to take two papers from the list of papers offered by Cambridge’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences; they may also study any subject they wish to add as long as they pass an admissions test given by that subject’s faculty. The Mitchell Scholarship was founded by Wallace D. Mitchell, who died in 1967 and left his estate for this purpose.

10) The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship
The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship (hereafter referred to as the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship) is a fellowship for a doctoral student who is conducting dissertation research outside of the United States.
In order to be eligible for this fellowship, you must:
1) Be currently enrolled in a doctoral degree program at an accredited United States institution of higher education.
2) Be engaged in full-time dissertation research abroad, meaning that at least one dissertation credit hour must be taken outside of the United States and no more than half of your total hours can be earned through distance education courses.
3) Have completed 12 credits or less towards your doctoral degree.
